Her work transforms the canvas into a layered excavation site, where painterly acts build upon and obscure one another, creating compositions that feel like both constructions and excavations. Yoder approaches painting as a conversation between the visible and the hidden, presence and absence. Each layer of paint carries traces of its predecessors, embedding memory into the canvas and revealing a deep intimacy with the medium as both a physical and conceptual language.
